Video Bible Study: Storms Part II

I will be putting the scripture references in my blog posts for my Bible study videos. For a start, there is a mistake in this video!-Did you catch it? When Elijah was depressed after the confrontation on Mt. Carmel an angel came and fed him. That was not when the ravens fed him:

Then as he lay and slept under a broom tree, suddenly an angel touched him, and said to him, “Arise and eat.” Then he looked, and there by his head was a cake baked on coals, and a jar of water. So he ate and drank, and lay down again. And the angel of the Lord came back the second time, and touched him, and said, “Arise and eat, because the journey is too great for you.” So he arose, and ate and drank; and he went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights as far as Horeb, the mountain of God. I Kings 19:5-8

When the ravens fed Elijah was BEFORE all that, right when the drought he proclaimed started:

So he went and did according to the word of the Lord, for he went and stayed by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan. The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank from the brook. And it happened after a while that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land. I Kings 7:5-7

After I filmed this, I sat down on the carpet there in my library with my journal and wrote this poem:

The Storm
You say no one cares for you
Well that's not true 'cause I do
And God does too!
Oh that I could fix your problem
I'd mend you up-
You'd no longer be stuck
In that addiction or depression-
The trials that come in rapid succession.
But what can I do?
I cannot fix you!
I can't make you believe.
I can't even relieve
That deep ache in your heart
Just where do I start?
Don't do nothing! She yelled at me...
So what shall I do?
Scream and shout? And run about?
Perhaps sit and pout?
I'll fight a war upon my knees
In quietness and confidence shall be my strength,
He keeps my prayers and my tears
Perhaps the overflow makes the rain?
To water all the pain upon the earth,
I'll thank Him for this thorn,
I'll praise Him even when I'm worn,
Because He carries me through the storm.
Yes He walks to me on the tempest sea,
The rain brings life back to my dying tree-
And one day through the clouds I'll see
The rainbow...
